Getting your offer accepted is but one step towards your goal of home ownership.

The next step is to schedule a home inspection.

Massachusetts Law provides a 10 day period for Buyer's to test for lead paint. Buyers take full responsibility for compliance with all laws relating to lead paint (and in particular Mass. General Law Chap.111, Sec 197).

General inspection, lead paint, & termite/beetle are the main types of inspections and are all optional*. Sometimes one company can handle
all 3. Inspection prices vary by company.

Also, if you are planning to hire an attorney
now would be the time to do so.

After the home inspection, the next step is for the buyer and seller
to give their "ok" to the final agreement which is known as the
purchase & sales agreement.

* fha loan programs may require home inspection w/pest & flat roof
