as of May 2000, Ma state law requires all practicing 
home inspectors to be licensed. 

Realtors are prohibited from referring a home inspector to a buyer. 
Instead, an information sheet has been created to assist the buyer in their endeavor to hire a home inspector.

Certain mortgage programs require an inspection. (i.e. FHA)
